C-Capture, developers of world-leading chemical processes for carbon dioxide removal, are finalists in two categories of the 2022 IChemE Global Awards, which celebrate chemical engineering excellence.
C-Capture’s unique, next generation carbon capture technology is shortlisted in the ‘Energy’ and ‘Sustainability’ categories of the international honours which are widely considered as the world’s most prestigious chemical engineering awards.
An innovation in the sector, C-Capture’s carbon capture technology is based on fundamentally different chemistry to other commercially available solutions. Lower cost, environmentally benign and extremely robust, C-Capture’s solution has the potential to break through the barriers that are currently preventing the widespread adoption of carbon capture and storage technology to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
C-Capture’s carbon capture technology is a finalist in the Global Awards Energy category – which recognises excellence in efficient energy use or the development of energy production methods that reduce energy intensity – and the Sustainability category which recognises excellence in sourcing and consuming materials, reducing waste, and/or optimising the product life cycles.
Tom White, CEO, C-Capture, said:
“This is fantastic recognition for C-Capture and our unique carbon capture technology. The IChemE Global Awards represent the pinnacle of excellence in chemical process engineering and this achievement is testament to the hard work of each and every one of our talented team who are committed to developing our world-leading processes for carbon dioxide removal. We are an innovative company at the forefront of developing next generation clean tech in the UK, our game-changing technology has the potential to accelerate the adoption of carbon capture, in the fight against climate change.”
Entries from across the world that demonstrate excellence in chemical, biochemical and process engineering have been selected as finalists in a total of 17 categories. Winners will be announced at the Global Awards 2022 ceremony in Manchester on 17 November 2022.
Keith Batchelor, Chair of the IChemE Global Awards volunteer judging panel, said:
“We are so thrilled to be hosting the awards dinner in person this year after two years of virtual celebrations. There will be a great atmosphere as we recognise some of the highest standards and achievements in chemical engineering around the globe – our peer-reviewed awards are a real accolade within the profession.
“We received a significant number of outstanding entries this year, with many focusing on the use of digital technologies and sustainability across different sectors, both of which are highlighted in IChemE’s Priority Topics. It has also been gratifying to see a concern to ensure that diversity is now embedded across our discipline.
“Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and thank you to everyone who submitted an entry.”
