ABOUT US

C‑Capture’s Chief Chemist discovered a new chemical pathway for capturing CO₂ using organic acids shortly after the company spun out of Leeds University; this breakthrough became the sole focus of the company due to its significantly greater potential compared to amines and many other previously explored approaches.

BP and Drax start investing and alongside support from DESNZ (et al), C-Capture raised >£20M over a ~5-year period that funded: early piloting, 4 x CCSCUs, a fully integrated full process demonstration and a team of 40-50 people

The high burn rate + UK political headwinds resulted in the main investors stepping back despite >3000 hours of pilot operation (longest single run >1000 hrs)

Rescue round = Technical team + key investor +  collaboration with an EfW site to host the fully recycling pilot.
To demonstrate beyond all reasonable doubt the performance of C-Capture’s chemistry & process

Technology has been successfully operated for over 1,500 hours at Veolia’s Energy Recovery Facility in Sheffield, UK, providing clear evidence that proves the process is ready for scale-up—safe, non-amine, low energy, and highly robust to flue gas.
