C-Capture, developers of next generation carbon capture technology, won the Innovation category in the Yorkshire Sustainability Excellence Awards final yesterday, 18th April.
The company’s transformational decarbonisation technology scooped the Innovation category in the awards which celebrate the Yorkshire businesses and organisations that are making permanent and positive changes in environmental impact.
C-Capture’s proprietary carbon capture technology removes CO2 from industrial emissions that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. Based on fundamentally different chemistry to other current commercially available approaches, C-Capture’s solution does not rely on the use of amines, offering a safer and less expensive alternative. The advantages of C-Capture’s technology mean it has the potential to break through the barriers that are currently preventing the widespread adoption of carbon capture and storage – and make a globally significant contribution to tackling climate change.
The technology scooped the Innovation award which recognises groundbreaking innovations that have the potential to significantly reduce our environmental footprint, and celebrates cutting-edge technologies, products, or processes.
